As a new year begins, it's a time both to reflect and to look ahead. Last year we added four fantastic new short film tours to our collection of online guides - from the frozen wastelands of Antartica at the beginning of last century to 1960s Battersea - these resources are richly contextualised and include related documents and lesson ideas. If you missed them the first time around you'll find them under the Tours tab above.

In February we unveil five brand new films celebrating for Charles Dickens' bicentenary. From the world of the magic lantern to recent TV adaptations, the films will explore cinema's relationship with Britain's most adapted novelist. In the meantime, be sure to check out this month's expanded Dickens on Film collection, with adaptations from British cinema's early days to David Lean's great post-WWII adaptations and beyond.
