Series 1 Episode 6 Originally Transmitted 19th October 1998

It is the morning of Denise's wedding to Dave. Denise is upstairs getting ready with the help of Barbara and Cheryl, her bridesmaid, who is too large for her dress. Nana is rather hindering the operation.

Dave, Jim and their friend Twiggy arrive back from the pub. Dave pretends to be drunk, to the annoyance of Barbara. Denise is furious he has appeared at the house and the other women comfort her upstairs. Nana tells her this will be the happiest day of her life and that it is all downhill from now on.

Jim gives Dave a tip for married life - pretend that you will be out later than you really plan to be. Dave promises Jim he will look after Denise. Anthony appears, with dour Joe and talkative Mary from next door. Dave having departed, Denise comes downstairs, to much admiration. The situation becomes stressful for Barbara, with Denise and Anthony bickering, Jim complaining of diarrhoea, and Nana demanding attention. The cars arrive and they all leave for the church, except for Denise and Jim. Denise tries to tell Jim how much she loves him and Barbara. He gives her a last drink and cigarette and they leave the house.
