Show full synopsis

Visually this item verges on the tedious, but as a witness to history in the making it is certainly important. The signing of the peace treaty at Versailles brought the First World War to an end, and by its punitive treatment of Germany, helped set in train the world war that was to follow.

The item was produced after Topical Budget had returned to private hands, but official contacts were certainly used to enable cameraman Harold Jeapes get his unique shots of events inside the Hall of Mirrors.
