Leslie Caron (born in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, on 1 July 1931) was an international star for 50 years, most famously in such Hollywood musicals as An American in Paris (US, d. Vincente Minnelli, 1951) and Gigi (US, co-d. Minnelli, Charles Walters, 1958).

She was also in some notable British films, including The L-Shaped Room (d. Bryan Forbes, 1962) as the pregnant single girl, for which she won a BAFTA, and Valentino (d. Ken Russell, 1977), as a flamboyant Nazimova.

Her second husband (of three) was British stage and film director, Peter Hall (1956-66); their daughter is actress Jennifer Hall.
