Gibbo shoplifts a small ads paper from a newsagent. Back at home, his flat mates are playing a party game. Anna finds an SLR camera she wants to buy and makes an appointment with Mr Sifter, the elderly man selling it. He warmly welcomes Anna and Gibbo into his home. While the pair is alone in the living room, Gibbo contemplates stealing several items, only to be interrupted by Mr Sifter returning from the kitchen with a pot of tea. The camera is almost forgotten, as Mr Sifter entertains the youngsters with stories of his travels during the war and his love for his late wife. When they leave, Mr Sifter gives them a bottle of wine which he claims he picked up on his travels.

That evening, Anna and Gibbo, pleased that they have found a bargain, share the bottle with their friends and become drunk. One by one, they start throwing up, foaming at the mouth and convulsing; eventually they all lie still. Mr Sifter breaks into their house to steal everything of worth.
