Synopsis

Warning: screenonline full synopses contain 'spoilers' which give away key plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know the ending!

The day begins with the reaping of the hay by a horse-drawn reaping machine. The cut hay is tossed into the air and spread out in a process known as shaking. The hay is then racked into bunches. The farmer's children play and hide in the bunched hay. When the children are finished playing, the farmers come along and collect the hay onto a huge cart, which is then taken to the farm. At the end of the day, the farm hands gather the hay onto huge ricks where it remains ready for winter food for the animals.
