Rails to Talsarn (1962)

Synopsis

Warning: screenonline full synopses contain 'spoilers' which give away key plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know the ending!

Two shire horses, Prince and Corwen, pull trucks of dressed slate, with Mr Jones - a 'guard and driver' - guiding them. They pick up additional full wagons at the quarry, before making the journey down to Talysarn railway station, where they are met by Mr Jones' father, who helps with the shunting. Three of the wagons are pulled up and alongside the platform so that slates can be transferred to the mainline railway trucks which will take them to the quay at Caernarfon, ready for shipping.
