An elderly man enters a drawing room and addresses a seated woman. She leaps to her feet and begins berating him, indicating the clock on the wall. She makes a threatening gesture at him, to which he responds by seizing a plate from the table and dashing it on the ground. He then picks up a newspaper, which she snatches and drops to the floor. She grabs a cushion, which he in turn grabs from her, throws it to the ground and jumps up and down on top of it. She bursts into tears, whereupon he takes pity on her, takes a box out of his jacket and gives it to her. She opens it, and hugs him in delight.
