"LORD FRENCH IN MANCHESTER". Viscount French inspects men from the convalescent camps and decorates Company Sergeant Major McDowell 6th Manchesters with the D.C.M.".

Main title. Rear view of Viscount French and other senior army officers in the grounds of a large park. On grassy ground beyond lines of soldiers stand and await inspection. The inspection party moves off. Medium long shot of French being given the medal which he pins on McDowell. Medium close-up of McDowell wearing his medals. French, followed by other officers and a man with a chain of office (the Lord Mayor?).
