Synopsis

Warning: screenonline full synopses contain 'spoilers' which give away key plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know the ending!

Main title. "French soldiers advancing under cover of smoke of a burning farm house. This is only one of the many farmers' houses that have been destroyed in the war". Filmed from the brow of a low/small hill a farm building can be seen in a valley with smoke pouring from it. A small number of French infantry take kneeling firing positions and advance on the farm house. Some throw smoke grenades. This may be a training exercise rather than a full military attack.
