"VETERANS OF 1870. Old soldiers of the Franco-German War place a crown on the Strasburg Statue in the Place de la Concorde. Souvenirs being sold for the benefit of the sufferers from the War" Flash title. A group of war veterans, wearing their medals, standing in the Place de la Concorde. Two commemorative banners are held. One man carries on a crown of flowers with a commemorative sash across it. He and another veteran hold the flowers and pose for camera. Medium long shot of people watching a man ascend the side of the Strasburg Statue and carrying the flowers to their final position. Women charity workers with rosettes pinned to their hats, and carrying collecting cans, appealing for money to soldiers and civilians in the Place de la Concorde. One man wears a fez-type hat, a bolero-style jacket, pantaloons and a medal. He puts a folded piece of paper into a can [possibly a note]. A tricycle with a box on the back to store goods has the name 'B. Coute'. It is not clear what souvenirs are being sold, possibly flags or badges.
