"MILITARY SPORTS AT HURST PARK. The 3/6th City of London Regimental Sports, includes amongst other interesting items a mop fight and obstacle race, on Hurst Park Race Course". Long shot of a group of sprinters racing down a track towards the camera. The tape marking the finishing line is prominent in the foreground. Spectators line the track. Long shot of a man rushing towards the camera and executing a long jump into a sand pit. Uniformed soldiers stand all around the run-up and pit watching. Long shot, as before, but with different man making the jump. Medium long shot of a group of men carrying other men on their shoulders. The elevated men fight each other with mops. Spectators look on and try to avoid the men and the mops. Long shot of a series of men running up to a steeplechase hedge and jumping over into a water-filled ditch, before clambering out and continuing to run. Long shot of men crawling under a tarpaulin sheet, and out the other side to continue running. Spectators look on.
