He points towards the bed, indicating he wants to go to sleep. He takes off his jacket and waistcoat. He is transformed into Napoleon. He takes off his hat and jacket and becomes a policeman.

This undressing is repeated and the man becomes a showman (white trousers, long white jacket with black lapels, top hat, boots), tramp, Turk, bell-hop, pierrot, formal dress (top hat, cravat, long black jacket). He flings the discarded clothes on the floor.

He moves towards the bed and becomes dressed in a nightshirt. A skeleton appears in the bed; the man seizes it and the skeleton becomes a chair. He gets into bed and becomes dressed in the evening clothes he wore earlier. The bed disappears and he sits on the floor. He throws the pillow and bedclothes about the room.
