Synopsis

Warning: screenonline full synopses contain 'spoilers' which give away key plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know the ending!

A legless beggar is seen laboriously propelling himself along the pavement on a little trolley, with a sign marked 'CRIPPLE' around his neck. Passers-by respond to his plea for alms. A constable, suspecting something wrong, taps the man on the shoulder, and the beggar springs up and takes to his heels. After falling over the trolley the policeman goes off in pursuit.
