Two children wait expectantly by the fireplace, but are packed off to bed by the maid.

Later that night, Santa Claus lands on the roof of their house, and descends the chimney, emerging from the fireplace to leave presents in the children's shared cot.

He then vanishes, and the visibly excited children wake up.
