The Gaumont Company's footage of the Sidney Street Siege, as it became known, shows a number of policemen holding back the crowd at the southern end of the street. Puffs of smoke are clearly visible, resulting from the firing of shots from windows and doorways of some of the houses on the left hand side firing towards No 100 on the right. Another shot sees the police trying to control large and excited crowds followed by shot of 100 Sidney Street in flames, filmed from a high point on the other side of the street.
