Jane Brown gives up being an office typist to train as an aircraft factory worker.

Show full synopsis

A factory work recruiting film produced for the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Labour. An attractive upper-class lady heeds the call, leaves her boring typing job, goes on a government course, learns how to use tools and read blue prints. She then begins work in a factory that makes Spitfires. The commentary stresses the importance and complexity of the work that women are now doing and yet (like Night Shift and They Keep the Wheels Turning) seems mildly surprised that they are able to do it.
