Chick is thrown out of his home by his mother. Aimlessly hanging around street corners he meets another boy and they discuss a robbery. The two youths break into a house but are caught by a woman. After a struggle they both escape. Later in the day, they argue and fight in the countryside. Chick has a blackout. He comes to and staggers to his house, desperately trying to get in but his mother is inside drunk and so cannot hear him banging at the door.
