A working day in the life of a Scottish ploughman, shot at Smeaton Farm, Dalkeith. Show full synopsis
|
|
One of a large number of classroom teaching films made under the auspices of the Scottish Educational Film Association, in this case to illustrate the typical life of a farm ploughman. It is an evocative, unromanticised portrait of rustic, simple living. The ploughman's work is earthy, as is his home and leisure: tea from the stove, thick-sliced farm loaf and a bothy music session with another friendly farm-hand to finish the day.
