A pacifist meeting is held at the Brotherhood Chapel, Southgate Road, Kingsland, London on 28 July 1917 by the London and Home Counties Workers' and Soldiers' Council.

A crowd approaches the church. One man hits the door with a hammer, while another kicks in a window. A policeman on horseback within the crowd watches the scene. The crowd throws objects through the broken window. The people inside the church can be seen fighting off the invaders. A second mounted policeman watches but takes no action.
