British infantry comes under fire. Soldiers walk singly and spaced out along a line, overshadowed by barbed wire and fencing. Smoke spreads across the ground in the middle distance, followed by an explosion.

A double line of mounted cavalry follows a broad path along open countryside. A ground explosion occurs next to the troops. When the smoke clears, the line of cavalry is seen further along the path, with two horses lying on the ground. One horse attempts to get up. A soldier runs down the holl towards the troops and horses.
