Lover Kisses Husband (1900) is a single-shot comedy in typical Bamforth style: as in the company's earlier Catching the Milk Thief (1899) and The Tramp and the Baby's Bottle (1899), a crime is committed, discovered and punished, the violence of the latter element making up a fair proportion of the total running time. The title helps create suspense by revealing that the wife will be substituted by the husband at some point, which is further milked by having the lover sneeze distractedly at least once before the switch is made.
