Synopsis

These are the film's intertitles, which provide a sufficient synopsis in themselves:

1. The Battle of Tewkesbury - Henry VI defeated, and crown passed to Edward IV.

2. Murder of King Henry VI in the Tower of London by Richard, Duke of Gloucester, afterwards King Richard III.

3. King Edward IV orders arrest of Clarence, at Gloucester's instigation.

4. Richard woos Lady Anne over King Henry's corpse.

5. Murder of the Duke of Clarence in the Tower.

6. News of the death of Clarence brought to King Edward. Gloucester prevents Coronation of the Prince of Wales. Lord Hastings visits Princes in the Tower.

7. Lord Hastings sent to execution.

8. Lord Mayor offers crown to Richard, which he reluctantly accepts.

9. Murder of Princes in the Tower.

10. Arrival of Richmond in England. Nobles rally round his standard.

11: Richard starts to meet Richmond. Is cursed by his mother, Queen Margaret and Queen Elizabeth.

12: Buckingham captured and sent to execution.

13: Battle of Bosworth. Death of Richard. Richmond offered the crown.
