Our New Errand Boy (1905)

Synopsis

Warning: screenonline full synopses contain 'spoilers' which give away key plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know the ending!

A grocer engages a new errand boy. After sweeping the shop front the boy beats out the mat against an old gentleman coming round the corner and manages to hit a policeman with a broom. On his rounds he plays tricks on various people including two women shopping, a curate who gets smothered with flour and the driver of a corporation water-cart.

His victims make their way to the shop and when their tormentor returns they immediately give chase. The boy finally locks up his pursuers in a hen run, and the film closes with a close-up of the mischievous laughing boy.
