Synopsis

The different transport services provided for visitors travelling to the International Garden Festival at Dingle, South Liverpool in the summer of 1984, as well as footage shot at the Festival site. Shots of passengers boarding the special Festival Ferry Service at Pier Head are followed by views of the waterfront and the Liver Building from the Ferry, passengers on deck, and views towards Otterspool as the ferry approaches the Garden Festival site. A special double decker festival bus leaves the Festival Bus Stop outside the North Western Hotel in Lime Street. The car park at Otterspool, where the bus service terminates. An overhead view from a railway bridge of a train approaching St Michael's railway station, where passengers disembark for the festival. The remainder of the film is comprised of footage shot at the festival site, with particular focus on the miniature steam railway, which carried festival-goers around the site. A commentary provides information on the history and construction of the festival.
