A burglar enters a room by a window and disturbs a sleeping couple. While the wife attacks the intruder with a stick the husband crawls under the bed. The burglar overpowers the woman, ties her to the bed, takes her jewellery and some money hidden in a long-case clock, then escapes. A policeman and neighbours arrive on the scene too late.
