Synopsis

"Historic Building which for Centuries had been the stronghold of the Crown formally handed over to Provisional Government of Southern Ireland". HAS British army trucks drive through crowds. The crowds seem to be jeering - one girl throws something at the lorries. Four men leave a doorway " Provisional Government, headed by Mr Collins, arrives to "take over". No picture. In courtyard of Dublin castle, soldiers on parade with guns raised ready to fire salute (unclear if British troops). Gateway of the courtyard, back view of soldiers marching out three abreast. Arrival of Provisional Government is not shown. " Exit the Viceroy, Lord Fitzalan". Three cars and a pony trap drive out of gateway past cheering crowds waving hats in the air. "The "Black and Tans" pack up". Black and tans on parade ground are dismissed. Furniture, suitcases piled up in small courtyard, Black and Tan member with family in background. Black and Tan soldiers load lorry with sheets and bedding. "The last Guard at the castle "dismissed"".
