"In the Yang-tse Valley. Terror stricken families flee before the advancing Chinese Armies, as Civil War sweeps the country." Scenes in Hankow: refugees, mainly men, walking in a street. HAS of crowded train, including people on the roof and hanging on to the side of the train, as it pulls out of the station. Refugees carryig luggage and crates walk up a gangplank. HAS looking down from quayside as a small steamer moves from the quay into open water. The steamer is crowded with refugees. Travelling shot from a crowded steamer pulling another smaller, crowded boat.
