Synopsis

Warning: screenonline full synopses contain 'spoilers' which give away key plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know the ending!

A view from a tram as it travels south along Southampton High Street. The tram tracks are visible as it heads through an archway of the remaining section of the medieval stone wall. Through the archway, shops line the high street and people fill the pavement. A few men and women walk across the tram's path. A little way ahead, a man and boy cross the tracks.

A row of lampposts divides the road into two lanes. A horse-drawn carriage passes on the adjacent lane. Soon another tram passes, with men and women sitting on its open-top deck. Down below, a policeman crosses the line. Two carriages pass by the tram before another tram becomes visible up ahead. A man jumps on as it moves.
