Fancy dress swimming race in seafront harbour area: four men in swimsuits and wearing top hats swim length of course, climb into rowing boats where they put on dinner suits then swim back to starting boat carrying umbrellas. This is all watched by crowds in surrounding boats and rowing boats. Men in swimming suits climb ladder underneath pier and dive into the water watched by crowds (mainly women) on promenade.
