Exterior of the Electric Theatre, Bolton, with posters advertising films and a banner proclaiming "Welcome to our King and Queen" Street in Bolton lined by spectators and decorated with flags. Programme seller walking past crowds lining route behind wooden barricades Pan of crowd milling in square (145) Red Cross nurses Mounted police in side street, with tram passing in background A group of nurses. Crowd of children waving pennants in the station forecourt. The Mayor of Bolton and local dignitaries on a raised platform outside the town hall(?). The royal car arrives, King George and Queen Mary alight and mount the steps to be greeted by the Mayor; they shake hands with a succession of local dignitaries. The King raises his hat to acknowledge the applause. The Mayor leads the cheering as the royal couple return to their car and are driven away followed by a few vehicles.
