Labour delegates leave a meeting with Lloyd George to oppose possible war with Turkey.

Show full synopsis

This item refers to a meeting between Liberal Prime Minister David Lloyd George and delegates from coalition partners the Labour Party. The issue is probably the threat of war with Turkey over the Canak (Chanak) Incident of 23 September 1922, in which Turkish cavalry violated a neutral zone. Lloyd George's reckless foreign policy nearly led to an unnecessary war with Turkey.
