The celebrated Nottingham comedian Billy Merson (1881-1947) sings one of his well-known humorous songs ('If you won't be my Desdemona/I'm not standing here to catch pneumonia'), dressed in a toga and playing a prop harp. The film includes an instrumental chorus with dance.
