Doreen Henderson
A member of the well-known folk-singing Elliott family, who also plays an active part in the mining community of Birtley, County Durham.

Members of the Casualty Union at Parkside Colliery, Lancashire, devise ways of simulating injuries, to facilitate first aid training.

Reclamation
100,000 acres of land in Britain is derelict, and the Coal Board plays its part in reclaiming it for new productive uses.
