Show full synopsis

This film makes full use of cinematic techniques - heightened music, stark camera angles and atmospheric lighting - to highlight the drama inherent in mining. This was not entirely an artistic decision: lowlevel lighting was a practical necessity in the cramped circumstances of filming underground.
